Nice Art Deco style. Fits well with a Gibson-styled aesthetic.

Like the finish and the black 510s do tone in well with the darker wood grain sections.

That looks great. What did you use as an inlay in the main logo?

One question....is there a specific reason you drill the veneer before applying it to the headstock? I've always found drilling veneer a high risk operation. Would be interested to hear your reasoning.

That is simply stunning. Please please please tell me you used a cnc to do all that cut out! I could never even hope to get cuts that neat and tidy.

Re: J45 headstock design
Thanks Wayne
Richard, I used a CNC to cut the pocket for the logo and the MOP logo itself
Martin, The facing veneer is 2mm thick and as the whole headstock design was built up to be cut out using the CNC it mean't I didn't have to worry about registration at a later date. Once the face and backing veneers were glued on I simply used a 10mm forsner bit to take the holes right through.
TallDad71, Yes I used a CNC. It's an Oosnest WorkBee machine and I use a program called Cut2D Desktop for the layouts and to generate the tool paths - The 0.3mm endmills for the MOP and logo pocket are a bit delicate and need care when selecting feed and rpm rates

Looks great - and will be fabulous under finish! I really like the black tuners actually. I also like to see other people using a zero fret. I know it is more common there in UK and Europe, but tends to be looked down upon by our American friends and is not common here either.

That's a great deco heastock. Shurely (!) it needs the Grover style deco tuners to match...(Other brands are available!!)
