Thanks Steve. Nice demos, as usual.

No glue squeeze-out with your vacuum clamping pictorial?

Thanks Steve for more excellent tutes.

With my molds I slap on a few coats of polyurethane to make cleaning up glue and other crap off the mold a bit easier.

Valid point, I guess becuase I am more in the repair field I predominantly dont hand onto molds, I will build a custom mold for a specific job and then at completion of job, take the hardware off and re-use it on another job, If I kept every mold I used, I would need another premises :)

You're right about molds taking up space....

OK. I am glad that I am not the only one who needs to clean up glue squeeze-out!
I did a vacuum clamping of a bridge tonight, with HHG. After 12 minutes of clamping I took the vacuum off and cleaned up the glue with hot water, soft cloth and a pointy stick. It took about a minute as the squeeze-out was still "booger consistency", but the bridge was holding tight by then. This was following the method Robbie O'Brien showed us. After a quick clean-up, - clamp it again. Looks good. I hope it holds!

Thanks for your informative tutes Steve.
What gram strength & clarity of HHG do you use for successful bridge glue ups?

I just use Behlens low strength 160gram I think it is, mixed 50/50 with water, this allows for me faster drying times and more glue in the joint. With hide glue as always, fit and finish of the joint is paramount to success.
