Sydney dust storm

When I left the south coast, they had a hail storm from Woolongong south, and 1 year later when I drove through to check in with my mates, they were still fixing hail damage. Said that was all that they had done for the entire year, and were getting bloody sick and tired of it.

Millions of tonnes of free land heading for New Zealand. There are stories of Real Estate agents waiting on west coast beaches with buckets.

Would you Aussies please stop talking about this! Do you have any idea how upsetting this is for Hesh? He knows his Festool vac could not suck up 16,000 tons of dust, but he also knows that he would try and that is making him very upset just thinking about it!

Good to see you posting again Dennis and you are right, knowing his phobia of even a single dust particle, poor old Heshie would be apoplectic if a few tonne of it landed on his back door step.

Can't imagine a red coloured Mitre peak somehow, wouldn't quite have the same effect.

And would you beleive it! It's happened again today! Not quite as bad, but once again the entire sky is yellow/orange.

This has got to be the strangest week I can remember.

Hesh, I'll try to take a pic or two to show you the layer of dust.

Lucky I didn't get round to washing the car.

We've had it for days up here now. Layer of dust within minutes of cleaning. Just giving up. All the Japanese in town are walking around with those surgical masks that you see them wearing when in Tokyo. Me, I'm toughing it out and choaking on the dust.

On top of that there are all kinds of bush fires about and a thick smoke haze. Woke up a couple of nights ago thinking that the house was on fire, the smell was so strong.

Gotta love a sunburnt land.

And I hear some clever bastard was at Epping train station on Wednesday morning selling 50 cent dust masks for 5 bucks a pop. Totally cleaned up, the bugger made a fortune. Why ain't I as smart as that bloke?

My buddy bought one from him, and by the time he got to work the whole damn thing was orange. He's saying, "why wasn't I as smart as you and just stayed at home?"

Seems there are all sorts of levels of intelligence. You think you are being smart and there's some other bloke out there, way ahead of you, laughing and walking away with a wallet full of $$$. Good for him!

Hesh, I've been trying to take a good shot of the dust layer for you, but the same damned wind that brought it here has blown it all into, for example cracks in the pavement etc. There's really not much to see, or photograph.
