So, what're your tips? and why?
I boxed the trifecta the year before last and walked away with a bloody motza, and then I boxed the horses that came 2nd, 3rd, and 4th last year - but that didn't pay, 'cept for a couple placings.
I'll post my tips tomorrow after I've looked at the form guide for a couple hours and had a look at the track conditions.
I'm good at betting on the ponys, but therein lies the danger, you think your good but then you lose the house. Which is why I only bet on the cup, once a year is good enough for shits and giggles.
Melbourne Cup
Nobody? You all keeping your tips to yourselves?
Mine:
Mourilyan - good horse, proven over this distance, well rested.
Alcopop - coming off three wins in a row, hasn't raced for a little while
Shocking - real good horse, not carrying a lot of weight, but raced on Saturday and won, might not be enough recovery time.
Daffodil - just 'cause...
Anyway, box em for a few dollars.
I don't think the favorite will get up, too much weight, dead track with rain forcast, running into a strong headwind. It'd be a bloody good nag to get up in those conditions. and anyway, the favorite won't pay much if it does get up.
