The Perfect Mobile Phone

Post by kiwigeo » Thu Nov 05, 2009 4:46 pm

Comments from the man behind Motorola's first mobile phone:

""The first cell phone model weighed over one kilo and you only could talk for 20 minutes before the battery ran out, which is just as well because you would not be able to hold it up for much longer," he said."

Wish todays mobiles had the same specs

I think I still have one of those. Nearly as big as an old Army Walkie Talkie! Most of the weight was the, 20 min, battery. After a few charges, it wasn't even that good. You also had to charge it nearly every day. I think mine had, something like, an 8 hour on time, max. I don't use my current one a whole lot, but I doubt I have to charge it once a week, even, with moderate use.

The battery in mine never runs out, it never needs to be recharged. The 5 mtr string can be a bit limiting at times though.
